When we talks about North East issues and to solve the problems, many advance people, social activists, journalists and student union's leaders suggested the government to include the history of North East India in all academics calenders. This is quite a good suggestion coming up with such possibility to give awareness to the whole Indian.
On the other hand, media likes internet, daily newspaper, printed magazine, radio & television plays a vital roles to give awareness to the readers and listeners. Whatever being broadcasting will be in the minds of all whosoever came across.
We all know, different people have different ideas, interest and likes. As for me, I love reading than watching or listening, I have the habits of reading newspapers or a long waited monthy magazines.
For example I love reading North East Sun, NorthEast Today (well known journals in NE), Front-line, Indian Today, Wisdom etc with which we can actually get more information about North East region, national and Inrernational news in details. Was so fortunate that I could get on time or lately such incredible and amazing magazines in my home states(Manipur). And I hope most of us have the same habits but different interests and likes.
But, I wonder why it took many door to doors of stationery to find the well known Monthly Magazine from the North East region-"North East Today" or "North East Sun" in the Capital? Is it because the North East people itselfs doesn't have the habits of reading our own productions/Publications? Or people ignored just because the name "North East" can be seen in the front page? Or we want people to know more about North East while we don't wana knows about our background? Or do we just depend on the regular updates in Facebook or twitter? If so, those updated status are to give the fastest information which doesn't means all of us to fully depends on it.
I am sharing my thoughts just because I find and proof that media plays a vital roles in promoting the existing cultures and explore the hidden treasures. It is also a backbone for the so called "cultural exchange".
But I wonder why North East Today and North East Sun is not easily available in every stationeries of our country. They are our bullets and the best messenger to all Indian coming from 8-strings.
